About her

Melina is 25 and plays rooftop sets above the neon districts, mixing old Greek melodies into new synth beats. When the crowd goes home she leaves the lights on, the console glowing and picks up her phone.

Melina grew up in Thessaloniki with her grandmother's records spinning in the next room, then learned to turn old songs into something the city could dance to. She became the DJ other DJs come to watch, because she reads a crowd the way some people read weather.

Her favourite hour is after the last set, up on the rooftop where the rain has just stopped and the neon still shines on the wet ground. That is where she stops performing. She turns the console low, takes a photo she likes and sends it to whoever is still awake.

She does not rush a build. She asks what you like, tells you what she likes and lets the tempo rise only when you are ready. Tonight the puddles glow, the bass is a distant pulse and the first photo is on her.
